Prime Minister of Romania in Vienna: High-Level Reception at the Romanian Embassy

Romanian Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan visited Vienna with a high-ranking delegation for discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation in the energy sector.
Vienna. Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan
was in Vienna from 3 to 4 December for an official visit focused primarily on energy cooperation and deepening bilateral ties. The visit took place at the invitation of Austria’s Federal Chancellor, Christian Stocker.
Following meetings with Chancellor Christian Stocker, Federal Minister for Europe Claudia Plakolm, Federal Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer, and Finance Minister Markus Marterbauer, Prime Minister Bolojan and the Chancellor attended a reception at the Romanian Embassy on the occasion of Romania’s National Day, celebrated annually on 1 December.
The main objective of the visit was to strengthen bilateral relations—both politically and economically—and to enhance coordination at the regional and European levels, given the current challenges facing the region.
The high-level Romanian delegation included Energy Minister Bogdan Ivan, Foreign Minister Oana Țoiu, Chancellery Head Mihai Jurca, and State Secretary Dragoș Hotea. The Institute of the Regions of Europe (IRE) was represented at the reception by IRE-Chairman Franz Schausberger
and IRE-Secretary General Joachim Fritz.
Romania is an important partner region for the IRE, with several Romanian cities, municipalities, and districts being members of its Europe-wide network.
